Going back to the dentist after COVID-19: how does it work?<\/h2>

Since June 1st, a good chunk of Quebec\u2019s dental health clinics have reopened, following the new guidelines of the <\/span>Ordre des Dentistes du Qu\u00e9bec<\/span><\/a>. This gradual resuming of activities doesn\u2019t come without its fair share of questions, and with reason. Dentist and COVID-19, how does it work?<\/span><\/p>

Order of treatments<\/span><\/h3>

In a medical field such as dentistry, appointments will not resume on a \u201cfirst in first out\u201d basis, as in the customers having waited the longest will be seen first. Treatments will be done by <\/span>order of priority<\/b>, urgent procedures taking priority over routine cleanings, for example.<\/span><\/p>

Taking appointments<\/span><\/h3>

Appointments will be made <\/span>by phone or electronically only<\/b>, and a questionnaire will need to be taken beforehand in order to rule out any possibility of infection.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

It will be important to break the habit, if you have it, of arriving 10-15 minutes before your appointment. Masks will be provided if you don\u2019t have one. Also, <\/span>we will ask you to wash your hands on arrival. <\/b>Additionally, maintaining proper social distancing will be in order.<\/span><\/p>

During the procedure<\/span><\/h3>

At <\/span>Clinique Dentaire Champlain<\/span><\/a>, our seasoned dentists are used to practice in a sterile environment and know by heart all procedures to control infections, so there is nothing to worry about on this end, no matter the <\/span>service<\/span><\/a> offered. Before starting however, we will ask of you to rinse your mouth with an antiseptic mouthwash.<\/span><\/p>

After the procedure<\/span><\/h3>

Once the procedure is done, we will ask you to wash your hands before leaving the room. For the settling of your bill, <\/span>contactless payment methods<\/b> will be prioritized.<\/span><\/p>

Additional fees?<\/span><\/h3>

The new guidelines associated with the current pandemic are put in place to ensure the safety of you and our employees. These include wearing additional personal protective equipment that needs to be regularly replaced. These measures incur then <\/span>additional costs<\/b>.
